En 1996 en un proyecto emprendido por Polygram US, sale al mercado un álbum de salsa con temas en inglés titulado LA RODVEN MACHINE CALIENTE, donde une artistas de la talla del desaparecido Frankie Ruiz, Héctor Tricoche, Andy Montañéz, Tommy Olivencia y Eddie Santiago que interpreta el corte Black is black.

Here's a curious release. Compiled from the vast Rodven catalog, this is a grouping of thirteen salsafied American pop tracks, sung in english, by the label's top salsa performers: Frankie Ruiz does "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction"). Also with Eddie Santiago ("Black Is Black"), Edgar Joel ("Black Magic Woman"), Alex D'Castro ("I Just Called To Say I Love You"), Hector Tricoche ("You've Lost That Loving Feeling"), Andy Montañez ("Going Out Of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off You") and others.
The liners list musician credits, so I am assuming the core of this may have been an original album in the '80s.
In either case, if your a fan of salsa in english, this one's a lot of fun.
